|Welcome to Happy Goat Lucky Ewe Fiber Farm!
We offer a fine selection of fleece and fibers from Michigan grown sheep and goats. Our livestock produce lovely merino wool
and mohair for wear-next-to-your-skin soft, natural fiber products. We sell cowls, scarfs, hats, socks and yarn. I've become
the dryer ball queen and sell them online and at shows. They are $10 each or 3 for $25. If you must have some mailed to you,
feel free to contact me at email@example.com.
The farm offers merino starter flocks: Four bred ewes (due in late January/early February 2018) and a stud. Visit
www.michiganmerinos.com for details. No livestock sales after December 15 (ewes will be too pregnant), you will have to wait
until summer 2018 to get your flock started. Flock sales come with free consultation. Interested? Come visit the farm to
help make your decision - $40 for a two hour visit.
When we attend shows we bring our fine yarn and spinners' roving from our Romney and Teeswater cross girls. You will find
that we have moved toward a finer fleece by acquiring a 50 ewe merino flock from Genopalette Farm is Missouri. We have
three rams from Missouri and a lovely ram from Rose Hebden's Promised Land Farm here in Michigan. We also have a
homegrown ram lamb out of Vincent who will be ready for the ewes in 2018.
We have both natural color merino CVM crosses and pure white Merino ewes. The white wool is usually made into 3-ply
worsted weight yarn. This year (2017 & 2018) I am collaborating with my alpaca friends as part of the Michigan Fiber
Cooperative to sell a 50/50 handknitter's worsted yarn sold under the name Fresh Water Fiber. The proceeds from this yarn
go directly back to the cooperative and the farmers.
My fine wool traditional style Ruff Girl/Tuff Guy socks come with me to the farmer's markets. I'll be bringing some fleeces
to the Michigan Fiber Expo in October. They will be $10 a pound, divided into four pound bags - perfect for a sweater or shawl.
Wool from our seven natural color ewes is made into Ruff Girl and Tuff Guy socks. Soft and warm, you will want to give these
as gifts to loved ones.
The farm shop is now open by appointment: Please email for directions: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The shop carries comforter batting, felted hats, coin purses and cell phone covers. You will also find handspun and custom
spun yarns and hand knitted hats and scarves. We also carry, ponchos, sweaters, baby blankets, socks and shawls.
